GATE Achievement

I had given exam in GATE 2004 Instrumentation during my third of engineering.  That time, I did some preparation for GATE.  I failed in this exam because of following mistakes

·         Tried solving all questions

·         Reading from XX Publication book

·         Not aware about  pattern of GATE exam

I feel, readings from references book is very important and later on, you may go through it if it is really good book. If you are not sure of answer, you can take calculated risk. Please don’t take risk for most of the questions.

Next time, GATE 2005, I did some preparation during my final year mostly from reference books. This time, I didn’t solve all the questions. However, I took some calculated risk based on GATE exam pattern in linked type questions. I was expecting that I will get around 90%ile. Surprisingly, I got 97.02%ile with AIR (All India Rank) of 145.

Points to think: Do we need coaching for clearing exam?

My answer is different. Based on your surroundings, financial condition and your goal, you can decide for coaching.   In coaching also, only you need to do hard work.  However, if you want to just clear GATE exam, you can make group in your college or online. You can do wonders without coaching also.   

Later on, I cleared GATE exam in year 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 with descent marks.
