TOF Mass Spectrometer (Time of Flight)

Principle:  Different amount of time is required for ions of different m/e ratio to travel identical path from ion source to collector. If L is the length of the drift tube in cm and t is transit time (Flight Time) in microseconds, for singly charged ions of mass m and constant energy Ve, then Typically flight times are 1 to 50 microseconds.

Regarding Mathematics, I want to share something with all of you... GATE Mathematics is different from M:1,2 and 3.  No long problems are asked in GATE exam (most of time).  Read as much property as you can from different books.  Most of time, small questions from MATHS.
